FEATURED ARTISTS

CLASSY

Classy is a sketch comedy group. It is comprised of two short, white males still struggling to cope with being disgusted by their own genitals.

Aaron Kheifets is a comedian, writer and director. He is on the writing staff of Shoot the Messenger, created by Lizz Winstead, (co-creator of The Daily Show) and the sketch group Classy. Other credits include the MTV, Onion News Network, College Humor TV, Sketchfest NYC, and the cult phenomenon Mortified. His videos have been featured on sites such as the Apiary and 236. Still, his finest moment was becoming a finalist for Playboy’s Mustache of the Year.

Dave Warth has been doing improv and sketch and solo shows and plays and so forth in New York City for five years. His solo show “Stupid Brain” played last year at both the Magnet Theater and the UCB, and he just completed a run (unless you’re reading this in a couple months, when this bio will be hilariously out of date) of another solo show called “I WILL CRUSH YOU”. That one was about Stalin. He can regularly be seen with his improv team Hello Laser at the Magnet Theater, where they’re a house team. They kick a lot of ass. For two years running he’s put up a game called Manhattan Megaputt for the Come Out and Play Festival. It’s exactly what it sounds like. Anyway, he likes Classy a lot, and hopes you’ll come check us out, because he thinks you’ll like it too.

EMILY BRYAN

Emily Bryan is a comedian and photographer from Upstate NY. As a comedian, she has been performing stand up, sketch and improv for over ten years in Dublin, Ireland, Boston, and New York City. She has performed, improvised, and written with such groups as: Jungle! Jungle!, Once Upon A Time: An Improvised Musical, Dayjob, Eleanor!, Hey, Gorgeous!, and a remake of The Paul Lynde Halloween Special. She is also the creator and host of Focus (http://www.focuscomedy.com), an improvised parody of The View. As a photographer, Emilys work has appeared in the NY Times, the NY Observer, Time Out NY, Time Out Chicago, New York Magazine, and various other publications and blogs in the U.S. She is available for headshots and other photographic services. In her spare time, Emily enjoys studying US history and is currently working on a blog about Presidents. She is also trying to write a novel. She doesn't know what it's about yet. Please check out her website at http://www.emilystandsup.com.

LEANNE LINSKY

Leanne Linsky is the host and co-creator of Casual Sketch, performer on Magnet Theater's resident musical improv ensemble Miracle Baby, and one half of the comedy duo Bryan*Linsky. Leanne is also a TV show host on KZTV, Kid Zone TV at Mount Sinai Hospital. She performs and teaches improv workshops at hospitals, senior centers, hospices, children's runaway and homeless shelters and cancer support organizations with Cherub Improv. Leanne is very excited about her role as Master Teacher Burns in the dark comedy "Dead White Males". Check it out in October 2010 at the Bridge Theatre!

Leanne began her studies 8 years ago at The Second City Training Center in Las Vegas, which led her to UCBT NY & LA, IO Chicago and most recently Magnet Theater in New York. Some of her performance credits include: Sex, Relationships & Sometimes...Love, Walker Live!, New York Musical Improv Festival, Busker, Rendezvous, Carnival of the Unlikely, We're Just Sleeping Together, Lawyer Money, Sandbox Association, Pajama Party, Unlikely Probability, and Magnet's former resident ensembles: Yum Yum Bangkok and Commando.  On the old boob tube she has turned up in commercials for 1-800-OK-CABLE.

Leanne likes wearing clothes, a luxury that occasionally has her modeling and emceeing a fashion show for AuH2O and her favorite designer, Kate Goldwater. She also likes nice people and the benefits of breathing.

ROMAN RIMER

Roman grew up in the Bay Area and Oak Park, IL. He studied theater and psychology at Sarah Lawrence College and Goldsmith College at the University of London. Roman is currently performing his one-man-show "Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Trannies But Were Afraid to Ask" at Magnet Theater and various open mics in the East Village. He is anxious but loves trying new things. He likes crashing on people's couches so when he wakes up his day starts differently. He also loves hugs, good vegetarian and vegan food and sleeping in. He would like to one day live in a world where everyone is encouraged and allowed to create and share in their art. His favorite color is purple.

ROCO PRIVETERA

Rocco Ernest Privetera has been studying and performing improv and storytelling since 1999, starting at Chicago City Limits, continuing training at the UCB Theater, The PIT in NYC and The Magnet. He also has studied Opera, Theater, and has a degree in Jazz Piano. He’s created and directed his own improv groups (Melodious Din), been in groundbreaking improv (Foreplay) and currently kicks around town improvising with Surf ‘n Turf. Ernie also has studied, performed, directed, and plays piano for Musical Improv. Now he tells monologues for other improv groups, performs at Casual Sketch and at other storytelling events. Sometimes he dresses like Santa or cooks for his friends.

ROY KOSHY

Roy Koshy has worked as an actor and comedian in New York, San Francisco and Austin, Texas. Roy currently performs stand-up all over NYC in addition to improvising with Face and Afternoon Playland. Roy is also a member of the sketch comedy group, The Mr. Whitepants Comedy Hour.
